Born and bred in Sydney, Libby Harris has lived in inner city areas for the past 25 years. She is a passionate advocate for a positive and integrated approach in planning the night-time economy at a strategic and local level.
As a public safety specialist for 30 years, Libby has vast experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver positive community and economic outcomes.
Libby has worked in law enforcement, corporate security, private consulting and in all tiers of government, giving her a unique and extensive knowledge of different industry needs.
Career highlights include delivering the City of Sydney’s OPEN Sydney strategy for the night-time economy, planning security for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, consulting to the Australian Defence Force on counter-terrorism security, and working with City Rail on security for APEC and World Youth Day events.
Her keen interest in learning about other cultures has also led her to travel extensively across Asia, Europe, North and South America and the Pacific. She has a Master of Science in security and risk management.
